The IoT era provides huge opportunities for semiconductor companies with capability and leadership in processors and wireless connectivity, to enable some 50 billion devices by 2020. Cypress Semiconductors serves the IoT market with its line of low power MCUs and its state-of-the-art, interoperable connectivity products and solutions. Given the broad range of requirements for compute power and connectivity needs of the expansive IoT market, SoC design techniques must be scalable to cover this complete realm of products and technologies. This includes the need to leverage block-based and platform-based design practices to capitalize on the efficiencies of reuse, but also brings greater challenges in areas like earlier product prototypes, global continuous integration, analog/mixed-signal integration and die/package co-design.
