Electronics will continue to form the bedrock of export for Southeast Asia. With Singapore and Malaysia focusing on value creation and accelerating the value-added content of the electronic sector, countries within Southeast Asia is fast positioning themselves as complimentary partners in the holistic development of the electronics manufacturing ecosystem. Evidently, upstream and downstream electronics manufacturers are increasingly inter-dependent forming a closely knit and diversified manufacturing supply chain across different economies in the region. This presentation will provide an overview of the current state of development and focus within Southeast Asia’s 4 regional players namely Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam with an attempt to examine collaborative frameworks of Sino-Southeast Asia potentials in furthering the growth of the industry.
